I've been lurking for a few weeks, so first, hi! My J. Crew bubble necklace knock-off is on its way from China, I'll fit in soon .
I have been having this awful dry scalp issue and conventional shampoos just make it worse. My hair guy recommended Davines cleansing nectar hair and body oil shampoo along with Davines moisturizing balm.
My question is, is there a trick to natural shampoo? I wash and rinse twice, but my hair is always still greasy after I'm done, especially around my crown. I've had this problem with other natural shampoos before (B&B, phyto somewhat, Alba), so I feel like it must be user error? No matter how hard I try to focus on that area when I'm washing and rinsing, it happens anyway. I'm really embarrassed that I can't wash my hair properly and I'm almost 30!

I would make sure whatever shampoo you are using is sulfate free (look at the ingredients, if anything ends in "ate", then its got sulfates of some sort).
I use Nature's Gate shampoo (the pomagranate sunflower one), and I love it. I then also use a conditioner with no silicones in the ingredients.
As for your scalp, you may want to try using some organic, extra virgin coconut oil on your hair/scalp to treat it a bit, washing afterwards with actual shampoo (without sulfates, of course). In addition, pick up some Scalpicin (or the equivalent store brand) at your nearest drug store and use that on your scalp after washing. Its a leave-in treatment in liquid form, not greasy at all, and has been the only thing to work consistently on my scalp.
