So over on my local non-nest board, theres a regular who is a teacher here in nj. Earlier this school year, she had her class (5th grade, i think) randomly pick one school in each state to write letters to. One of those schools was briarwood elementary in moore, ok. She had just received letters back the week before the tornado hit.
Being totally moved and shocked, she tracked down (on fb) the teacher whose class they wrote to about what can be done to help. About half the students lost their homes.
So...they put together this amazon wishlist and i thought id share
Thanks for posting this. I will send something. I feel so bad for those families.
Me too. I sent a bunch of things. Oh and these are things for the kidspersonally, not just the school. The high priority things are things some of them specifically asked for. Its heartbreaking.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."
I see there are 10 kids wanting the Nintendo DS. I wish I could just drop $1650 ($165 x 10) because I'm actually hesitant to buy 1 with 9 still wanting one.
