We've been using our ceramic plates for grilling outside, but I hate lugging them down four floors and worrying about them getting dropped.
I've been looking for a good (but cheap) set of plates, bowls, and serving stuff but I haven't found anything I like. The biggest problem I'm running into is dishwasher safe plastic. Does anyone have suggestions or sets that they like?
I love corelle plates; we grew up with them and they were used inside and outside. They don't break very easily and they are lightweight but you don't have to worry about possibly melting them.
Target, during the Spring/Summer, has a whole row of outdoor plates and such. It's a better selection than what you can find online.

I just pick them up from Target, or even Big Lots when we had one in town. They've always been mocrowave/dishwasher safe, and we use them frequently since our grilling area is right by the pool. Sometimes a paper plate just doesn't cut it.

We use blue speckled enamel stuff (like you would use camping, but we don't camp). It's pretty great. No microwave, and I can't think if we've run it through the dishwasher or not.
