Are you okay with styling it? My hair is super thick and has a ton of body/waves/frizz. I chopped it all off when Eli was a little over a year old and have kept it a lot shorter since. I went from your length to something similar to what you posted and it made life a lot easier. I just recently got brave enough to try sideswept bangs and love it. I was told for years it wouldn't work with my hair type.
I'm worried because my hair is somewhat thick and not completely straight that bangs would be weird. But side bangs I think might work,.. Perhaps...
My hair looks terrible now, so full of split ends. It's way past the nipple length and heading for belly button length. I am so lazy
I have a similar haircut and my hair is also wavy (well the underneath layer is, anyway -ANNOYING!) and I have to blow dry with a round brush. I only wash/style every 3 days so it's not too bad. Takes about 10 mins to style. But yeah, wavy hair can look sloppy esp. around the bangs area if it's not blown out, KWIM?
But yeah! You should totally do it. It would look great on you, imo
am I crazy?!! I just think it would be cool to lose the three pounds of hair I'm carting around these days, in a dramatic fashion...
It's cute! I had a cut similar to this a few years ago + loved it. Are you dying it too? My hair is curly but I wear bangs (I just blow dry and/or flat iron for bangs) and it's cute. You can totally pull it off even if you don't have super straight hair.
ETA - I don't style it straight as much as I used to bc of time issues... :/
Super cute cut but short hair is so hard to style esp in the summer humidity. I had mine short one summer nd went crazy bc I couldn't pull it back. Maybe cut it a Little longer so you can still get a half pony?

TBH I'd much rather something that requires zero styling as I am lazy and usually don't even blow dry my hair... I wonder if this cut would require styling. I have had short hair before but I can't remember what it was like exactly! But I know I've never regularly styled my hair..
I like it a lot! Do it tomorrow! I'd find a groupon for a stylist in your area to get a good cut.
I found a groupon for a place close enough to my office, $30 for a cut (instead of $60) It's a bit suspiciously cheap for downtown so I'm not sure if it would be good to use it for something so drastic...

My hair is ticker and kinda wavy. And when I have side bangs I have to blow dry my hair a certain way and then straighten them slightly. If you are looking for something you wont have to do anything to, idk if that would work...
@starbound ugh blow drying and styling, so much work! I tend to wash my hair every day and just leave it air dry. I'm really rocking the deranged hippy look right now hair wise I think so I need to do something
devotchka I was thinking of getting highlights too but decided I'm not willing to deal with the upkeep cost involved, its expensive. I guess I could home dye it but it would have to be something like Red, as I don't want to try to bleach my brown hair myself
teamhayes a good point. I wear a ponytail 90% of the time due to my unruly mane. I wondered if cutting it all off would be could because I wouldn't be able to keep doing a ponytail! I vaguely remember the previous times I had short hair and having to wear a headband for running/exercising
I have had short hair maybe three times. Usually my hair has gotten to this level and I go in and say chop it all off! Then I never go back until my hair yet again looks like this. I am a strange sort of woman aren't I.
Why not look at some cute shoulder length cuts?? Then you'd get some length taken off, it would still look good not blown dried, and you could do a ponytail if you needed
Do it! I did it last year and got about 13" cut off. It was amazing! I think short hair is easy to manage. Bangs usually need to be styled with wavy hair, but if they are long enough you should be okay.
Also, if you have not colored your hair you can donate it to the Pantene beautiful lengths.
I think both are sooooo cute. But I'm personally not a super short hair kinda girl, and I LOVE the second one. I need something I can put up in a ponytail if I need too! I just got my hair cut just like that a few months ago, I loved it!
I love the first picture! I also really like the second one you just posted - maybe that would be a good transition. If you find you really like it and still want shorter, then you can get another cut. For what it's worth, I have long naturally wavy hair and long bangs. On days I wash my hair, I usually only blow out and style my bangs, and the rest of my hair gets pulled into a low bun or chignon. It only takes like 2 minutes to style that way.

Do you have "virgin" hair right now? If not, I would suggest waiting to dye it at home. I had highlights in October, they were a little too light for me (did you see our xmas photos?) - I really look better w/ dark hair - so I decided to grow it out. So I had my stylist dye it dark brown. The highlights still came through in the Spring but I wanted it redder so I dyed it 2x since then myself and now my hair looks like it's 3 diff colors. Ew.
I definitely loved my hair short but it's a lot of maintenance. With my long hair it did take forever to flat iron it if I wanted it straight but I could always just wear it curly out of the shower and it looked great. So I kind of regret cutting it short for the baby bc I feel like it looks frumpy at this length. I am prob being a drama queen
I think if you have the time in the morning to do your hair, go for it. If you don't have it (and you can't make time), don't!
I'm going today! I figured I'd show the stylist both pictures so they have an idea of my "taste" then ask for recommendations based on how they see my hair and my dislike of doing any styling.
I'm excited, yet also I know that I will probably cry later about my hair. haha. But it will be back in about two months since it grows so ridiculously fast it seems.
