I climbed up on our roof last night to take this picture. For one, that was more scary than the actual fire. For two, I lost the lens out of my pocket (wtf was I thinking), and it almost dashed itself to the ground. Luckily it stopped rolling before falling completely off.
Anyway, this was taken with a good zoom lens, so it's not quite as close as it seems. Those of you that are my FB friends, yes I'm awing it again.

10 miles or so? There's a large reservoir between the fire and my house. We're hoping it doesn't do an end around it. That squiggly line to the left are vehicles going on the the top of the reservoir.
I didn't realize you were so far north. I'm down in Highlands Ranch and yesterday was really smoky! Couldn't even see the mountains. Cool photo, though.
