I just reached up to my ear and noticed that one of my diamond studs is missing. This pair is special because it's the first pair that DH ever bought me, certified and all that stuff. These are the ones that are always in my ears because DH bought them for me and they were my first.)
So, in the past two days I've been to the dentist, to the mall, to daycare to drop off kidlet, to the counselor's office for kiddo, to the school for Science Day (where I was assisting with the planetarium display in the gym for two sessions, eating lunch in a separate classroom and in kidlet's room working with solids and liquids and chemicals and making Gak and Ooblek with lots of goo and paste and mess with a rep from the children's museum and around every one of 28 desks plus running kidlet to the restroom for potty breaks), the dance studio and every room in my house.)
Sonofabiotch. I'll never find it. Or I'll find it 28 years down the road and it becomes one of those lost-and-found news stories.
I FOUND IT!!!! The girls missed the bus today so I drove them to school. The earring was right there on the floorboard, flashing and winking at me as soon as I opened the door! So the midnight to 2:00 a.m. ripping apart the sofa, crawling through the tv room, dumping out my purse and cleaning out my wallet and panicked phone messages to my dentist and the dance studio were all for naught.

Sooo glad you found it. I lost one of my blue topaz with paved diamond earrings a few years ago and it still saddens me. The post came loose and it fell out somewhere at work or in the parking lot. I never found it. They were $$$ too.
