I am not a proper bagel eater because I don't really like cream cheese. I like cinnamon raisin bagel, toasted, with jam on it. Mmmm I want one now.
Whenever you say proper I read your posts in a British accent and then have to remind myself you either have a Irish accent, a East Coast accent, or none.
We never finished Guess The Voice. My voice was never heard!

We should do that again! I sent my voice too and it was never posted.

very much an Irish accent! I don't think 6 years in the states has even put a dent in it really...
This might go down in history as the LAMEST UO everrrrr.
Someone please step it up and throw in a bomb. I've got nothing.
Happy to oblige.
So many interviews with survivors of the Oklahoma tornadoes were appalling to me. Case in point: principal of the school that was destroyed but did NOT have any casualties talking to Anderson Cooper on national television saying that "These kids just had the grace of God". This was not four miles from the school that lost 20 children.
I know this is the Bible Belt, folks, but really? THOSE kids that died didn't have the grace of God? At worst, this is horrible arrogance. At best, a critical sensitivity chip is missing. This was repeated constantly over multiple interviews on national television.
Please. Have your religion. But also have the common decency to look around you at those less fortunate and choose your words carefully. Perhaps it's because I'm agnostic, but I Do. Not. Understand. This.

Gotta say, I am religious, but I'm with you, sister. How inconsiderate and cruel.

It's hard to put my finger on but I think in general we aren't allowed to judge anyone for anything anymore because we don't know their lyfe. People say that they don't understand why someone would post about topic x or that its silly to post about topic y. And all of The items are sort if making us all the same people.
In short, I guess its just not as stimulating conversation anymore as evident by our Pie/bagels themes UO today.
I want to retract my statement about not being that into dessert. I still would rather have food then desert, but i forgot about soft fluffy truffles and cake pops! I LOVE CAKE POPS!
I HATE CAKE POPS. I think they're nasty. Too much frosting makes it too sweet.
I don't like hummus. I just don't like it! Matilda loves it so sometimes I take spoons of it too because I want her to see me eating everything, but I just don't like it AT ALL. Ugh.
La Bagel Delight in Brooklyn has the most delicious bagels of all time. And I've tried a lot of bagels. Does bebeetmoi agree?
Agreed.
And to the people out there who are hating on hummus, is it a consistency thing? IMO the pre-made hummus at stores is gross. Peppers, jalepenos, pine nuts and all the other weird crap doesn't belong in hummus. I'll make a big batch of real hummus and send it out to convert the hummus haters.
It's totally a texture thing for me. I hate beans of any sort, purely because of the texture.

Really, you don't share recommendations with your IRL friends? It's the same thing. In no way does it make us a bunch of sheep.

I'm going to have to agree. There are times when I have held back because I didn't want all the harsh comments and judging that whatever I had to say would inevitably lead to.
Not every single UO and FFFC can be balls to the wall. Sometimes we need a lull in the drama. I think there is a lot of judging still. Just the way I like it. I also think that fruit in chicken salad is nasty. Chicken salad should have chicken (obvs, pickles, onions, eggs, mayo, and paprika. Pickle and onion haters, I feel sorry for you.
My chicken salad has chicken, mayo, red onion, carrot, apple, dried cranberries, walnuts and sometimes chopped grapes. It's so good.

rainbowchip-just because i have the same shorts as Tamb, or Bebe, or Trudy, or Kdrake or whoever else bought the shorts, doesnt mean we are the same person. It just means we have the same shorts.

Don't forget me! I want to be in your sheep pack too!
Wait, you had to expect feedback about that comment, right? If you want more judging, discussion, whatever, than reacting like that instead of continuing the discussion isn't going to help matters.
I think that the board ebbs and flows, and like @pcloadletter said, sometimes we just need a drama break. I am confident someone will throw something out there that we will all judge soon, and then it'll die down again. I like our dynamic.

I just don't feel like arguing anymore about it. The majority doesn't agree with me and I don't care enough to push the issue. It isn't going to change so I either have to decide if I want to deal with it or not.
