My pro painter is here right now redoing my doors (and other stuff! Yay!) and he didn't take them down either.

You shouldn't apply paint so thick that it would matter (re: drips). I didn't take my cabinet doors off either. GL!

You can leave it up, but I was doing a dark red, and I can be a sloppy painter when it comes to details. For me it was easier off.
