And he's a jerk.  We have one piece of furniture that just has to be jockeyed back and forth because its too big to fit out the door, and he's all eyerolls and huffy.  Good times ... but on the bright side ... yay new carpet!!!

Oh, and a random.  I made crockpot oatmeal for breakfast, cept it turns out that what I bought labelled steel cut oats is actually ... cracked wheat, maybe?  So R and I have been going around all morning with 'please sir, can I have some more?' And other gruel jokes.  Derp, good thing we're not gluten sensitive.

As for the carpet guy, what an A$$. I'd call him out on it when he's done.

My painter is here today and I forgot a couple things and felt bad. He was all "No problem!" and totally helped me.

He left. Carpet looks amazing. He charged us an extra $25 (under/over the table?) for moving furniture.

Ugh. But the carpet makes it worthwhile. Totally. Yay new carpet!

Honestly, it was the money we were *going* to tip him.  So it was all a wash, but it was ... well, not fun.  It took me 5 minutes after he arrived to be all "what an ASS" to R.

The couch doesn't really go with the carpet. I don't care. The carpet looks great with the room overall and it *might* last longer than the couch.

Okay now I'm jealous of the glass over your doorway. That's sweet! The birth & women's center here is in an old historic house and they have lots of the original stuff in there -- the transom windows, the fireplaces in the rooms. Pretty sure the rickety old doors and knobs are original upstairs in the exam rooms. (They put in sliding panel doors for the birthing room/former dining room. I am obviously obsessed with this place, sorry.)
