I use to go to like 2-3 live concerts every year, it's my FAVORITE non family time past-time, but since we've had kids my concert experiences have been few and far between.
Between the price of tickets rising for good shows (good to me, I like popular bands like The Boss, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac etc..) and then having to get a sitter (not easy for us) it's just not a good fit these days.
DH was talking about getting me tickets to see The Eagles for my birthday ( I REALLY want to see the Eagles), but this mom of two who is daycare and mortgage poor just could not pull the trigger on having him buy them . It would have bene over $200 for just 'okay' seats.
I need clothing really bad, so I guess I "should" just use my birthday money for clothing....lame. I am so jelaous of you ladies who have great clothing budgets, that is just not me.
First world problems right? haha
Anyone seeing any shows this year?, perhaps I can live through you.

I think you should at least try and go once a year even if you have nosebleed seats. How far are you from Boston? I'm just thinking that smaller club shows are more affordable and a lot of older bands play those circuits.
I searched Boston County fair and this came up but again I don't know if it is close. The county fair typically has a lot of less expensive shows and look a Eagles tribute band is playing. www.ecfair.org/ I'm sure if you have a drink and squint you will think you are seeing Don Henley :-)
We are going to see Rancid for my birthday in July but yes the babysitter for two part makes it tough.
It does make it tough and so expensive! We are going to see Huey Lewis at the zoo in July and are going to a theater show for our anniversary next week (Rock of Ages) but it's pricey and I hesitate to spend so much on one night
I almost never go to concerts. They are so super expensive and I can never justify the cost when there are so many other things that I can buy and have for longer. One reason why I hate going out to eat - nothing to show for it when the food it done.
That being said I am going to JayZ and JT this August!

Lately I tend to average 'just" one a year, it was the boss last year. I am about 45 minutes from Boston. I've never heard of the Boston County Fair, but I bet it's fun!!! Yes, a nice drink (or 3) and some squinting can possibly make anyone look like Don Henley, lol.
Who will sit for you when you go to the show, MIL?

oooh, I'd like Rock of Ages too.
Our zoo has a summer concert series and it's pretty popular. We've never been but all our friends always go. here are some pics www.zooconcerts.com/about/
Tell me about it. Since DD's been born, I've gone to 2 shows. One of them was to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs which was pretty amazing, so I can't complain too much. H still goes to shows all the time, he just now brings a friend instead of me (bastard).
We saw the boss last year too! He puts on a great show. We were actually offered 2 free tickets to the forecastle festival in July, but we won't be able to make it . I love concerts too!
