Magdalen reminds me of Magdalena Hagdalena Ookatalka walkatalka Oka Moka Poke was her name, some name. (Please tell me I am not the only one who knows this song from camp...)
I am not feeling Magdalen personally, but I think we pretty very different tastes. Also I feel like people might want to call her Madeline by mistake? Maybe that's just me being crazy, idk.
Marion? Evelyn? Juniper seems like something you might like. Maybe?
I'm having a hard time since my top runners for FHB (future hypothetical baby) are boring old Emily and Elizabeth. lol

I like Evelyn, but worry about its popularity. I feel like I shouldn't care, but I do. :/

I love Vivian! It is one of my favorite names.
haggalina maggalina!
Haha hadn't heard of this!
I'm pretty back and forth on Magdalen.
Ugh this sucks. I like so many of the names you guys have mentioned so far but I dont LOVE them.
I dislike Magdalen, very religiousy. But then you are religious so that is probably why you do like it? so probably not helpful, ha.
I do like Margaret.
@tambcat Elizabeth is on my list for number two as well. We almost called Matilda that but nixed it due to popularity. I may just say screw popularity next time though. I mean if its a boy its a William!
Actually Cabbage Patch kids would be a great name resource for you. They always had long, often uncommon names. Mine was Bernadette Samantha. I wonder if there's a list of Cabbage Patch Kids names somewhere on the web.
I like Magnolia, but I don't know if I could pull off naming my child that... Lol
I really like religious names but am not super religious. It's weird how some names, like Magdalen, trigger the religious thoughts, but names like Mary do not! Haha. Just kinda interesting when you think about it.
