You aren't the OP, how could you possibly know how she intends to use it? And really, what good uses for a dog house are there?
Technically the same could be said for anyone who assumes that the OP is using the dog house because the dog lives outside. No one knows what she's using it for yet, she hasn't specified.
As for "good uses", I can name a couple. I've been toying with the idea of getting Sable a dog house. She's never outside unattended, but the IL's have one, and whenever we're outside playing at their house, she loves to go lay in the dog house when she gets tired. I also know someone who takes their dogs to the country because they own a bunch of land out there. The dogs have dog houses on that property so if they get tired or want to rest, they have a nice, comfy, shady place to take a nap.
The OP could very well be talking about an outside dog, in which case, OP--bring the dog inside. But we don't know yet.

True. I was thinking that and should have said something about it. I was just thinking more in the context of: when we're outside playing with our dog and he gets tired/hot, we bring him inside.

Which makes sense. Sable is just a weirdo. lol If we're outside with Roxie and Sable gets tired and we try to put her inside, she will have none of it. She wants to be where we are. Next time I need dogs that have a similar energy level and this won't be an issue.

I was disagreeing with the statement that "...a dog house implies taht the dog is outside unattended"
Also, yeah - none of us know what the dog house's use will be, but I think it is unfair to jump to a negative conclusion. and that a dog house isn't a bad thing as an object.
If you build your kid a playhouse, it doesn't mean that he lives in it.
