I did Murph on Monday which involves running 2 miles. I NEVER run that much. Ever.
Since then, my right ankle has been bothering me. It's on the outside, right above the actual ankle joint and it feels very muscle/tendon-y, not bone related. I've iced and foam rolled, but it hasn't gotten better at all. It only hurts when walking, not while standing or sitting. Is it just overuse? It doesn't feel sore like overuse usually does, but I don't know. I took a rest day on Tuesday for my anniversary and I don't work out on Wednesdays. I'm debating working out today (there is some running involved tonight).
What do you think? Should I just rest until it feels better? Schedule an appointment with my chiro? Halp!
I had pain in a similar spot - hard to tell just by your description. Mine was peroneal tendonitis. Also make sure you are foam rolling your IT band...that is usually the culprit for me if my knees or ankles start hurting. Make sure you stretch properly and have been fitted for running shoes--both were a tremendous help to me.

I am indeed rolling the IT band. I stretched a LOT before and after Murph. I don't run normally (or at least no more than 800m at a time) and CFing in running shoes isn't ideal. I probably should have worn running shoes for Murph though
