We just found out today that my aunt has a brain tumor. She has to go in for surgery next Wednesday. They don't think it is cancerous, but they can't be totally sure until they remove it.
A week ago my cousin was having a mole removed from his leg and they ended up taking about 6 inches in diameter of skin out of his leg and diagnosing him with skin cancer. They think they got it all, but he is going to be on close watch.
My mom is absolutely beside herself with worry. I'm trying not to let these worry me until we know if there is something to really worry about. Which is huge for me because I have GAD and worrying is part of who I am. But the surgery is still pretty scary in and of itself so any T&P would really be appreciated

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family! My dad had a brain tumor about 6 years ago. He had it removed and it turns out it was benign. It took about 4 months for him to get hiis memory completely back but today you would ever know he went through brain surgery. I definitely had to up my anxiety meds during that time though.

I'm so sorry. My MIL was diagnosed with skin cancer last Fall and underwent treatment this past year. It was hard on everyone but she is now healed and in remission. I hope your Aunt and cousin don't have to deal with any of the scary cancer stuff. It really does SUCK!

Thanks, ladies. I'm mostly trying not to panic for my mom because she is an absolute wreck. We lost my uncle (father of the cousin with skin cancer) a few years ago and it was really hard on our whole family (prostate cancer that spread really quickly). My cousin is a firefighter so, of course, he's got a brave face and positive attitude about it but I know he is terrified after seeing what happened to his dad. And I haven't talked to my aunt yet just because I have no idea what to say.
