So let's talk about how traumatic it was to get my first IUD inserted yesterday. lol Like I'm still recovering today lol What I expected to be a quick 20 min doctor appt was more like an hour fifteen. I normally see the RNP for all my OB-GYN appts but she had trouble getting it in and had to call in the doctor so at one point I had 3 people in the exam room with me trying to get this all done. If what I experienced was even a small part of what having contractions is like, good god I'm glad I got the IUD cause that was awful! Once it was all done I must have been so tensed up because my arms, hands, legs and feet seized up and I puked.
I mean I'm hoping it's all worth it cause from what I've read and from my RNP the new IUD, Skyla is amazing and so much better then the pill which I didn't want to go back on. Anyone else use an IUD?
I have an IUD too, got it put in like 2.5 years ago and am planning to get it taken out later this year.
I would say my experience was that it was uncomfortable but was not painful. It was fairly quick too, only took like 20 mins. I had some cramping afterwards but it wasn't too bad. I've loved not having to worry about bc at all.

Wow! I can't believe it took that long. How sucky My OB mentioned that it's much less painful to have one after having a kid then doing it pre kids. I had thought about getting one in between kids but after talking to the ob/gyn we decided it wasn't worth it for such a short duration.
I've been crampy all weekend and I can't find the strings that you're suppose to be able to feel when checking. lol I've got to call my Dr tomorrow to see if this is something to be concerned about or if it's just normal. My weekend was also pretty non stop so not much time for relaxing lol But that's what seems to happen when the in laws come to town.
I'm glad to hear the coming out part will be better then the putting in:) I still get crampy here and there and def after I run so I'm still recovering. Lots of spotting though but I guess that's normal for now.
Seriously, the stuff we women go through...my husband would never be able to handle this experience if it happened to him lol
