Why are people so nervous about bringing their stroller on a subway or train? I haven't done it a ton, mainly because Atlanta's public transit is a joke, but it was fine. I didn't feel unsafe or inconvenienced at all.
At least on the way home I *should* have DH with me. As long as his maintenance goes as planned. It's only one way. Then a 10 block walk. I can do this.

It's not a safety thing here. For me it's an accessibility thing, mostly. The NYC transit system is super crowded and not always accessible via elevator. Plus NYers don't have a reputation for being assholes for nothing You get in their way when they're in a hurry and you may get shoved or berated. Not a big deal in the long run, but annoying at the time. Plus you never want to be "that person" who's holding up the train.

Ahhh, okay. I was waiting for a link to some study that extensive rail travel before the age of two causes leprosy and excessive tail growth.

^^ WSS. My subway entrance has a very narrow stairway, so carrying a stroller down blocks people from entering and exiting. The line I live on is super crowded at all hours, and I can usually barely squeeze myself on with C in a carrier. I'm too impatient to wait on the hot platform for a car with space.
Normally I would not bring the stroller, but wearing her in this heat and lugging all of our clothes doesn't appeal to me. I'm going to take the 12:40. orriskitten - do you want me to bring the Wandfo's?
