From Craigslist (actually from a store that uses CL and facebook too)
To our house!
(feel free to ignore the paint sample, drywall patch, and bad phone pic )
I am not sure if we are going to leave them stacked like that, but I like it. So did the dealer. He said that he had never thought of doing it that way, but he thought it was a really nice way to use the pieces and really made sense in our space. He liked our house too..."not cookie cutter" was how he worded it.
It is a pretty fun set of building blocks...the legs are actually blocks of wood that can be placed wherever you want them, or left off if you don't want to use them. The shelves are adjustable in all of the units.
The ceiling is 12' high, so stacking the left side helped take up some of the height and still left a lot of wall for hanging art. I thought that it would be nice to have the top of the unit on the right for some tall vases/other stuff that won't fit well inside the units.
The store had a lot of really cool mid century stuff. We will definitely shop there again, and the owner of the gallery that is attached to the store suggested that I bring in some of my art or make costumes for little ones to sell there. We got a really good deal too. Not yard sale good, but a very fair price for the pieces we got. We got two chairs for the office thrown in, and delivery, and still paid less than the asking price.
oh gosh, that's gorgeous! i love the way you have it stacked. it would make a perfect entertainment center too.
i'd love to see a wider shot in the context of the whole room when you have more decor stuff done. i so love mcm even though it doesn't fit into our current apartment at all.

It would make a good entertainment center....if it was on the right wall and if our tv wasn't gigantic.
It is on the wall directly opposite the front door, and it is the only wall without windows and/or doors. Two units wide takes up 9' of a 16' wall, and the three stacked units are just over 7' tall.
We haven't really had the space for something like this before, or the right house to really pull off mcm or modern.
