I bet you secretly have decals everywhere and sayings all over your walls.
(I don't know if I'd be into themes or not in all honesty. I think I"m too lazy. Generally, I pick some colors I like and like too many things to figure out what I'd ever want to see all the time. My true theme is "lived in")
ETA: that sounds like i'm backtracking. I honestly don't care if someone has a theme or not. I think a lot are cute, but all are way more effort than I tend to do or want to commit to. I have liked beachy rooms I've seen. I really thought someone on here did a cute job w/ a travel themed nursery. For all of my browsing before kiddo was born, I pretty much just picked out pics that had greens, whites, and nature things, so I figured I wanted green in the nursery. It's funny we do nursery themes b/c it's not like we go and theme our own bedrooms. Must be some weird nesty thing.
It is kind of funny that we do themed nurseries when we don't do it in other rooms.
I feel like it helps me focus. I was just looking at ideas and saw some cute lamb things and thought, "Oh, but I really love the lamb stuff, too! And the owls." Having a theme in mind helps me keep it cohesive.
I don't care if other people do or don't want a theme in a room. This is the only room in the our house that will have one.

I would probably go waaaay more gray with the paint color. Blues tend to go REALLY BLUE when the paint is on the wall and lose their subtlety. A blue-gray will probably turn out more how you're envisioning.

I tried Sherwin Williams Rainwashed. It was not good; too dreary in this room.

Cute lamp! I'm doing an Hawaii/ocean, beach themed nursery. We got married in Maui and really love the ocean and thought it would be cute. We are doing a dark teal wall (lots of light in the room, white furniture, linen curtains, and then fun accents to tie in the theme. We are framing pictures of our wedding beach in Maui and a map of Hawaii. I'm trying to make sure everything will have a purpose for the future as he gets older and for it to be reusable, possibly in other rooms of the house if he ever wants to redecorate his big boy room. One thing that I personally don't like in a nursery is a lot of stuff/decorations on the walls. The starfish are cute but I guess them being on the wall like that is nms. I'm boring and would put them in a shadowbox or something.
We painted our guest bedroom Benjamin Moore's Polar Sky and it came out beautifully. It's a nice light turquoise/teal with a slight gray undertone for more subtlety.
My plan is to transition it to a baby room whenever we have one and I don't intend to paint it if it is a girl or a boy. I was planning on having a nautical/travel theme since I have loads of pictures of boats and used charts to frame up. It is pretty much themed right now since my grandma made me a quilt with a 5' large tall ship on it as a wedding gift. It's lovely, but not exactly subtle. I may cut that down to be a wallhanging in the future.
