My sister and I took her kids to a splash park yesterday. While I was there, I saw these two girls who could not have been older than 10, maybe as young as 8. Guys, they were dancing like strippers. Wrapping their legs around poles that the water came out of, gyrating, doing what I can only describe as the 80s move "the snake" but standing up. I seriously wanted to cry that girls that young know these moves. I wanted to hug them and tell them to be a kid for as long as they can. At least they had tankinis on that weren't skimpy.
This stuff squicks me out too, but sometimes kids do things with their bodies naturally that are only overtly sexual when we apply context to it.
Good point, and I hope you are right. However, these girls were not laughing or smiling while doing it. They were serious, and they just looked like they were trying to be sexy.
As far as parents, the place was packed so I couldn't tell who was with who, or if they had younger siblings the parents were watching more closely.

Maybe you had to be there. It wasn't just pelvic thrusts and gyrating, but they looked like they were trying to be sexy. I don't think I would have noticed otherwise.
Or I could just be seeing things.
I feel like people think I'm judging here. I'm not. I was just sad about little girls feeling like they need to be sexy.
