She has a C1 fracture but is neurologically intact. The brain bleed stopped on its own so they are goog to watch her closely and keep her on anti-siezure meds for a few weeks as a precaution. I think that's as good as a prognosis we could have hoped for. I swear that girl is made of silly putty and rubber bands (thank god!). Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers.

I am so happy to hear this. I read your post late last night and wanted to comment but just didn't think anything I was tying out was the right thing to say.
oh, thank goodness! I've been wondering about her all morning. So freaking scary.
Did your h fly out?
Yes. he left this morning very early. He'll come back Wednesday. Now, how the hell am I going to manage daycare drop off and pick up for the next three days?! My MIL is the only one left in town and she's not allowed to drive any of the kids!
That's great news. May I ask, how did she get kicked by a horse? Is she a rider?
Yes. She wasnt riding yesterday thugh. She and her sister have been taking lessons. The older sister for about three years, the younger (and the one who was kicked for about two). They volunteer at the place where they take the lessons and they were there yesterday doing their volunteer stuff. She is 7 and...high spirited. She was pretty close to the horse and her mom told her to back off a bit. When she turned to walk away, something startled e horse who reared up and kicked her in the back of her head with his front hoof. Nobody really knows what spooked the horse. She was familiar with the horse. I don't know if she's was goofing around or what.
I'm so sorry. That is so, so scary. My daughter rides too (she's 7) and I can't tell her enough, always be aware because you never know what will startle them. I hope she has a very fast recovery.
