Lol ther was a big discussion about this on here the other day. A few ppl posted some decent recipes but the basic consensus was that we couldn't replicate the cold pressing that coffee shops do. Maybe someone has a link to that thread for you. I think a few ppl mentioned pioneer woman's recipe as closest to coffee shop.
My favorite local coffee shop (which recently closed, RIP) made iced coffee with a toddy coffee system. I really want one:http://www.toddycafe.com/toddy-cold-brew-system
But in lieu of buying a system, I hear this is a good way to go:http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/06/perfect-iced-coffee/ I keep meaning to try it.
i just make a couple of shots of espresso in my aeropress, pour over ice, and mix with whatever type of milk/sweeteners we have on hand. it's usually sweetened condensed milk or half & half. mmm.
I use the Pioneer Woman technique, but only make enough at once for a mason jar because I don't drink it every day (4 cups water, 3-4 heaping tablespoons of coffee).
I started making freezing left over coffee in ice cube trays and I use those when making iced coffee at home--it doesn't dilute the flavor that way.
I might try Pioneer woman's recipe though, it might give me a few more minutes of silence in the mornings now that DD is done with school for the summer.
