S/O - I'm Scared - laser hair removal ?

For those of you that have had laser hair removal "down there" did you just do the actual bikini area? or everything (like a Brazilian)?

I've never been brave enough to get waxed, although I want to...but I definitely have been contemplating laser hair removal for at least the bikini area.

I don't like asking any of the ladies I know in person because I'm too chicken shit and embarrassed asking about stuff like that so I figured I would ask the awesome SO gals

I did bikini line for 6 sessions. Got a Groupon, so it was an excellent deal (I think $100?). But, I still have hair there. It reduced the growth by maybe 50%, but didn't get rid of it. I wasn't thrilled with the results. FWIW, it worked better there than on my legs, since the hair is darker on my bikini line, but still not well enough for my taste. I'll stick with waxing.

This is kinda what I'm afraid of...but I have seen the Groupons before, but wasn't in a position to buy it at the time. I'm hoping to see one come out again soon! I think its going to be part of my birthday present for myself.

I've thought about it before too. I used to get Brazilian waxes, but gave up and shave instead because it's too pricey to keep up with. I'm just afraid the laser would be painful...I've heard it's something like having a sunburn down there afterwards. And if it's not really permanent, than I can't see going through the torture....

Am I the only one who doesn't really mind shaving. It is quick, painless, and effective. Yes it has to be repeated but only about every three days.

I get SO much more irritation (razor burn) from shaving that from waxing. My skin looks and feels so much healthier now that I wax.

WRT laser hair removal being permanent--it's not. Most people have to touch it up every few years.

I'm right there with you on razor burn! My legs are miserable usually a whole day after shaving!

And MCC - I am with you 100% on the strip comment lol. I don't want to look 5 down there and 80 everywhere else

I got the full Brazilian laser done and I LOVE it. As does the BF

At first I thought I wanted a strip, but then I realized I like the full smooth look and feel better anyway. I just feel sexier when it's completely bare.

I've had about 7 sessions so far, and there's hardly any hair growing back. You space it out about 3 - 4 months apart. I ice the area prior to the laser so it numbs it a little bit and the sensation isn't terrible. I'm used to it though. And it's so fast. I think I only have 2 - 3 more treatments to go. Definitely a great decision and I'd recommend it for anyone who is a "candidate" (i.e., dark hair, light to medium skinned, etc)
