It’s been weeks since I have been on here. I have lurked on my phone from time to time but life is busy. Here are some updates on me.
I was in South Carolina for 11 days with ds visiting my dad and his wife. Step mom flew back with us and stayed with us for a week. I fell in love with Charleston and can see myself moving there if I had no unfinished business in California.
It is my birthday this Friday and I decided to host a picnic party at a lake park on Saturday with bocce balls and toss horseshoe. It is more work than I thought but I am excited.
Most of all, after 9+ months of weekly therapy and not going for the last 3 weeks due to my vacation and sprained ankle had made me realize that I don't want to continue it anymore. I don't want to carry around my pain anymore or look and dwell at my internal scars. It is time for me to move on and purge that awful pain I have been holding on to as my friend for way too long. Hopefully my appointment this Thursday will go smoothly with the therapist when I tell her this. She was amazing but I think she will be surprised to hear that I will be taking this turn now.
Work is crazy busy so I am not able to post much during the work day. I will try to make an effort to chime in before and after work to keep in touch.
Welcome back! How did it go with the stepmother being back at your house for a week? Do you guys get along well?
We get along rather now, better than ever. But.... it is best not to bring up the past. There are obviously still some hard feelings from the both of us but if we don't talk about them, all is good.
She is also "young" and many think she is my sister instead. I try to think of us as adults and ds is a good distraction to keep her busy.

I'm glad things went okay with her. My dad didn't marry his current wife until after I graduated from college and she tries a little too hard sometimes, but mostly she's good. Is this a stepmother you grew up with?

My dad remarried when I was about 9 years old. I didn't live with them until my freshman year at highschool. Home life while in highschool was tough since I had to learn new family rules and develop new relationships. I also felt so guilty for leaving my mom during those years.
