He's bought tickets - without consulting me - to Fleetwood Mac whom he KNOWS I can't stand. And he was all offended that I didn't want to go. Another couple actually bought them for us (with his consent) so we'd kinda go as a double date.
No offence to FM fans, but I really don't want to go. I told him to ask a guy friend or someone else to go with him. Am I out of line? Do I suck it up and go?
We are talking $200/pp tix here. I think it's too pricey to waste on someone (me) who doesn't want to go. He's all offended about it. And I'm pissed off.

Wait a second, does Fleetwood Mac not translate to AWESOME in Australia? WTF woman?? LOL.
I'd probably go just because they are a classic act and they won't tour forever...well they might. I don't know, Steve Nicks is pretty cool. Plus I'd be spiteful if DH wasted the money on one of his dumb friends.
Just drink a lot and go. Their music becomes better when youre drunk!
For some reason, all I can picture is the principal in School of Rock getting drunk with Jack Black and then dancing on the table because she loves Stevie Nicks so much.
I think he might be offended you don't want to go because it would be embarrassing for him to explain the situation for the other couple. I think you might just need to go, for anything else than to help him save face and keep some family peace.
I do think he might feel weird telling the others that "joe" is coming on date night to the concert...
the thing is men (or at least mine) don't really THINK. So if someone called my hubby and said they were were buying us tickets to a concert he would probably not consider whether I would like the band or not, he's so easygoing in general so he'd just be like sure sounds fun! Then I would FUME.
but I would fume 97% less if we hadn't paid the $200 per ticket ourselves.
I'm kind of shocked at all the 'you must go' comments. F that. I would not go. I would tell him to sell the tickets on eBay. Listening to live music I don't like is a tortuous evening!
This exactly. I get to go out so rarely, I'm not wasting one of those precious nights out doing something I hate.
