Around here - if you're going to be paralyzed by fear of spiders, you might as well call it a day and off yourself. There is no getting away from them.
I'm decently calm about it... I'd rather a big strong man be around to kill them, but when they're not - I'm pretty much G.I. Jane.
Last night I was laying down and saw one on the wall right by my bed. awesome :/ killed it.
This morning, there was one in my bathroom.
You guys - I wish I was being dramatic when I say this. That spider knew he was about to die. He carefully crawled up to the highest point on the wall and started over to his escape hole (I assume). As soon as I got into position to kill - his ass started RUNNING FOR HIS LIFE across the wall. OMG it was just so freaking disgusting.
I just called someone to come take care of this.
Seeing one every other week or so... ok. I can live with it.
Seeing one every day... nope!
I'll take spiders over roaches any day though. ANY FUCKING DAY!
I can take spiders just fine because I know we don't have any poisoneous ones around here. Otherwise I would curl in a ball and cry. I would check for spiders first though.
How do you know it is a brown recluse? Can you see the violin shape from far or did you go close enough to look? I guess you must have to kill it. omg.
Black widows are everywhere on the area we own our house, we just had pest control come spray monthly. A bite from a black widow would mess up my dog, so fuck chemicals, we sprayed regularly.
See @gypsy , I don't mess around like that. I'm there to kill it and I'd rather have a moment where I want to die a million deaths b/c I'm so close to it than to miss it all together.
Yea I would be in a panic if those things were showing up daily.
I live in the city and "water bugs" (aka big ass roaches) wander in from time to time. The last time my H was away on business. I flipped shit and ran away to my mom's for the night and let the cat deal with it.
I live in fear when he is gone, lol.
Spiders I can kill but I am still having a panic attack the whole time. Ugh I hate bugs.
i would have to move. no. no no no no no nooooooooooooooooope
into another house? or to Antartica?
I can't leave the area, and no house will offer me a spider free life. so.... great.
just...far, far away from wherever you are that you can't get away from them.
my house is not spider free but we have lived here for 2 years and there have been maybe 5 inside. maybe. probably less. and not poisonous asshole spiders either! we spray regularly and i am fucking terrified of them, my h knows that if it's not addressed i will be a basketcase and he will have to deal with it, so he does a good job. lol
Ugh - that sucks. My sister has brown recluse spiders in her house. Her bug person said the best way to get rid of brown recluses (aside from setting fire to your house) is to set out sticky traps (like the sticky mouse traps) along the walls. Good luck getting rid of them - those little fuckers are tough.
For those of you that spray what do you use? We don't have any crazy big spiders, but we still get them and they freak me out. A few years ago we used something we bought at Lowe's that you spray around the outside of your house and I feel like that drove them in - we had so many for like a month and then they went away. I'm afraid to spray and that to happen again.
