The "SadfaceI'mrelaxing" pose he has going on in the first pic...that's totally a ruse...
That's actually CLEARLY his "Creating a plan of destruction" face.
Good thing you got a picture of it--so you can remember what he looks like right before he destroys something!
Dogs are good fakers--they try to be all sly with their faces to throw you off the scent..you gotta recognize the signs of destruction.
Our dog always "acts" like she is "sleeping," but if you turn your back for one second---she'll try to climb on a table and eat your food or eat the stuffing out of a toy or something ridiculous.
Frustrating. You may remember a few years ago when Duke ate my wall, then ate it again the day after I finished a week long patching/painting project to fix it, then ate it a third time after a second repair job. Sometimes dogs are just punks, but they're usually sweet and nice, so we love them anyway. Kind of like husbands... :-P

brit ... Oh, Wyatt has eaten the baseboard slap off the wall before. He also ate the decorative corner piece off the baseboard.
This is at least the 15th bed he's killed. I keep giving him a "last chance." I always feel bad because Diva has a soft bed and he's stuck on the floor.. We were letting him sleep on the couch but he's sheds SO BAD.. Every time I sit on the couch i'm COVERED in dog hair and I don't enjoy vacuuming the couch every day.
I guess he's going to have to go back to sleeping in his crate. He's been pacing at night since we banned him from the couch. His nails on the wood floor are keeping me up at night.... as if the pregnancy induced insomnia isn't enough.. oy.
I love him, he's a sweet dog.. but he's so bad sometimes.
My dog has done that to so many beds. She finally has managed to actually sleep in one for the past few months and hasn't torn it to shreds. Yet. <<knock on wood>>
Every bed we've ever bought for our punk of a Lab turns into his equivalent of a blow-up doll. He just can't handle having one around. To get around the hair-on-the-couch issue, he's only allowed to get up on one piece of furniture, the end of an ancient hand-me-down sectional, and even that we have a blanket on.
I bought some cheapy fleece blankets that i put on top of them and throw in the wash each week. Our girl sometimes likes to sleep on the couch (only piece of furniture she is allowed on), so i keep one cushion covered with the blanket and she knows that is where she sleeps.

yea, one of my pups doesn't get a bed in his crate (and the other's is picked up as soon as she is out and put up high so the humper doesn't destroy it). He just has a few old towels folded up on the bottom to cushion his old bones. But seriously, his own fault. If he wasn't such an asshat about it, he could have a cushy bed too.
