What are good road trip snacks for a 6 and 2 year old?

We always had "fun" snacks on roadtrips, not fruit/veggies. We always had Cheez-its, twizzlers, pop, etc. I don't know what my mom was thinking with all of the sugar.

And a lot of dramamine to knock me out because I got car sick.

We've done cheese sticks, pretzels, goldfish, gummy bears. Basically anything that can fit in a ziploc bag or is pre-portioned is good.

I don't want to give them junk. I don't want to stuff them full or make them have to pee a lot (although Kristen WILL be in a pull up again this year. One piss-in-the-parking-lot at the Pittsburgh Zoo was enough for me).
I just want nice, light, clean things to keep them happy and busy.

Last year, I tried those squeezy packets of veggies/fruits for Bria, but she still got messy. But I have a lot more options for her this year, which will be nice.
BUT the 12 month old still did a LOT better than the 24 month old is going to do. I am so askeered.

My kiddos are the same ages. They love the little babybel cheese and the nutella to go packs.

Goldfish, applesauce pouches and granola bars were popular on our recent road trip. But I also had a lot more treat type stuff to make them happy, like gummi bears, pop tarts and twizzlers. They didn't get too hopped up. And they each had their own water bottles. I had to pee more often than they did.

Snack mixes: Cheerios, other cereal, pretzels, goldfish, dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, pineapple, banana chips), and nuts are usually a big hit. Sometimes i throw in a handful of teddy grahams or annie's bunnies. They don't melt and are fairly low mess. 

String cheese, applesauce pouches, those pb cracker sandwiches, animal crackers. Do you kids eat pepperoni? DD loves turkey pepperoni, so I throw that in the cooler. It makes a quick, easy, no mess protein snack.

As far as drinks, what about picking them up each a fun water bottle and just refilling it with water or some juice as needed?

Oh, and I keep those smoothed fruit strips from Target as my oh my god please just shut up emergency plan. DD loves them so much and they are really compact and easy to transport. They are a little sticky though.

I also dice up cheese and ham (like from a ham steak) and it's a good travel food. (small enough not a choke hazard) Definitely grapes. Colby jack is her preference, and I just cut those and ham into about the same size little pieces. Cooked bowtie pasta or that twisted mac that has extra veggies in it.

Usually I have little baggies of cheerios, gold fish or bunnies, letter cookies/animal crackers that i can hand back as needed.

I like our kid sized camelback bottles. Having a 6 yr old near 2 yr old may help b/c sometimes C shuts hers and can't always get it open again.

Lots of other good ideas were above, so I won't reiterate. But when I'm doing a ton of running around w/ kiddo, those are my staple items to throw in a cooler. Blueberries are on that list, but she gets really bummed when I run out, and they can potentially be messy, though not much more than anything else.

We do Z bars, applesauce pouches, gogurts, cheese sticks, pretzels, goldfish, cheese sandwich crackers, raisins, grapes, apples, pb&j, plus bunny grahams and fruit snacks for emergencies. Lots and lots of water too.

I know Kate could keep clean with the applesauce at age 2 but I wouldn't have trusted her with a gogurt in the car at that age.
