Shepherds Pie. Ground meat with prepacked shepherds pie mix and carrots and corn topped off with mashed potatoes and cheese and baked until warm. It's an all in one meal. Goes perfectly with a salad and some bread like item.

Sausage and spinach stuffed shells with garlic bread and a big salad. Annie's Eats has a good recipe but they're pretty easy to tweak. You could do half white sauce and half red.

A roast is so damn easy to do. Take the meat, coat lightly in oil. I add salt, pepper, a bunch of garlic all over. Stick in a roasting pan with one onion cut in half. I cook at about 300 until the proper temp. You can also cut up some potatoes and roast them in with the meat. Put them in after the meat has been in the oven about an hour. You can pretty much ignore this and it comes out great. And the old folks in my family think I'm being all fancy when I do this.
If you want easy and casual these are amazing. We make them for parties or for smaller groups and everyone loves them. We haven't used the Hawaiian rolls, we just use regular white rolls.
I've done a whole roast chicken (plus a few separate bone-in pieces and boneless skinless breasts if there's more than four of us), mashed potatoes, and vegetables.
Pork tenderloin with a wine-mustard sauce, plus potato and vegetable
Lasagna is a good idea, or ziti, with green salad and fresh bread. Or a big pan of baked macaroni and cheese.
London Broil can be done in the oven pretty quickly, and it's inexpensive so you can get three or four if need be.
Pulled pork in the crockpot, with potato rolls, cole slaw or potato salad, green salad, and maybe some baked beans.
Or we'll order roast chicken, ribs, rice, and vegetables from a Peruvian place by our house, or the Portuguese place by our friends' house if we're visiting them.
Last time I fed a lot of people I made chicken cacciatore and served it over pasta. Add a side salad and some garlic bread or good Italian bread. You can make it in the crock pot if you wanted to make things easier.
