Overreacting. My building is blocks from UT. Calm yourself.
LOL. Thank you!
I'm out in Riverview/Apollo Beach area. I feel bad for DD because she's all nervous and I'm all "it's fine! Don't worry!" but then the tornado warning pops up for Hills county and I start to panic.
I don't want to wake DD2 from her nap and I don't want DD1 to live in fear.
But for some reason I turn into the biggest chicken when I'm home alone with kids and it's storming.
I grew up in the midwest with tornados and I have so many memories if sitting in my basement listening to the sirens. Thankfully we don't have them here (CT) but even during the last tropical storm I was all weather-chickened-up.

Oh honey. You are ok. Just don't go out driving if you don't have to.
They are calling for 60mph winds this afternoon. So stay inside if you can!

I feel so stupid. I've lived here forever, I know all of this.
I'm going to blame the recent tornadoes.
Really I'm not really super freaked out. I just had a moment of insanity.
Last year was my first hurricane season with the little one and I was terrified of storm surge and ready to go buy a damn canoe. This year we are refinancing our house and they required us to get flood insurance so at least I feel like we won't lose our home if we do get severe weather. I also feel like now that we're fully covered we're safer from getting actual damage.
Ha. I was walking by my co workers making my way to clock out for lunch and they are all like..where are you going?? Get in here! You need to be in this room! I'm like whaaa? So i ask then what's up and they said you have to take cover there's a tornado. I told them I will be ok. I'm not going to starve during the tornado. And.. I'm glad i ate bc there was tornado.
Stop watching the news/local channels. I swear to you last night the reporter was urging me to get right with God with this storm coming.
It rains here every day. Today, it will just rain all day. NBD.
YES. but it didn't stop people from driving with their stupid emergency flashers on down 75 this morning.. c'mon already and just drive. it wasn't even raining THAT hard. They were doing 70 w/ their flashers on.
LOL. my neighborhood is on bay news 9 RIGHT now.. It seriously floods every single time it rains..every time. I want to go meet Ferdinand Zaugbaum, his name is just cool.

I'm in Naples, and rain is coming down in buckets. No joke. Can't see past the lanai. But, at least we won't be in a drought anymore! Out here, I worry much more about wildfires sparked by thunderstorms.
Thankfully the storm surge shouldn't be too bad this time!

muffin0 are you feeling better now? i honestly have been so unplugged from the television if it isn't frasier or the killing that i didnt realise we were in the area of this stupid storm.
fun fact: my husband left a ladder out on our porch and when i got home this afternoon the wind had knocked it down and it hit one our windows and broke it. thankfully it is double paned, otherwise i'd be kind of pissed.

yea I'm better. We just ran up to Joann's to grab some craft stuff and then grabbed dinner at Panera. With the exception of some idiots on the road it wasn't too bad.
It freaked me out when I kept hearing news of actual tornadoes around us. (not just tornado watches)
Ugh about your window! I would be super irritated. Glad it's not that bad. Do they have to replace both panes? I hope not! I'm also glad you were not home because I probably would have died from a panic attack until I realized it was a ladder not a twister!!
