So, I went into JCP today to get polos for my dad for fathers day (he lost weight and apparently his old shirts are GIANT now) and they were working on remodeling the home section, as noted in all their commercials.
Honestly, the more I wandered around, the more I wanted an unlimited budget. They've got some really GREAT stuff and they are really displaying things to their best advantage. I'm specifically drooling over these:
(I know, it's a crock pot. But it's only $80 and the liner is the most gorgeous rust-orange-red color).
And I want this for my office:
It's a post-it holder and it's GORGEOUS. There's other matching stuff, but this one is just ... *sigh*

I've seen a bit of the change at mine too. It all looks really nice. Also, they took out a huge ad in this month's Food Network Magazine, so I feel like I've seen it a thousand times.

So did they do away with the always low pricing? I went in once since that post, to see if I could find an interview outfit, and left empty handed because everything was not interview appropriate.
Yeah, I admit they have cool stuff again..they always kind of did IMO but whatever. I'm also assuming that after this whole disasterous restructure is over those crockpots will be back to $29.99 plus a host of coupons same as always.
Afterall, it's JCP, not Nordstrom. If the JCP demographic couldn't buy into couponless low pricing, they're probably not buying $300.00 bedding either, kwim?

They did. Sales out the wazoo. Stuff is still priced (at least that I can tell) normally, but now it's marked UP so that they can put it on "sale". I kind of hate it, but I can totally understand why they did it.
My mom, for example, FREAKED over the new pricing structure. And I'm pretty sure she falls into their Alfred Dunner-wearing shopper demographic.

I saw a commercial about how they heard our pleas for the return of St. John's Bay and I nearly peed myself laughing. My H did NOT get it at all.

They renovated my JCPs home section and it looks great. I really loved the fair pricing, but I'm such a hypocrite because I text my mom & sisters every time I get a Kohl's 30% off coupon. To be fair, I usually use the 30 off on clearance clothes so thru end up being like $2. Which is why I have a closet full of cool, but random clothes.

That commercial killed me too? I was like WTH is begging for a return of the SJB lineup? It's not Herbal Essence people. And the girls in the ad are like my age besides..lol. I got a SJB sweater as a gift once and I wore it pregnant...that lineup as great clothes for that lol.
