I leave for Louisville early Saturday morning, so too early to get a long run in. I have some options (and am not officially training for anything yet) and some wiggle room. I really kind of like running after traveling to get the bugs out, so I'm not worried about being too tired or whatever. Last year I ran when I got there, and other than it being effing HOT AS HELL, I got 7 in easily. I won't be able to do a long run any other day while I'm there - the most I can fit into the morning before grading is 6.
a) get up at like 5:30 tomorrow morning and run 8-10 miles so I don't have to worry about it Saturday. Must be early, because DH is doing a school thing and has to leave by 7:15. b) take tomorrow off (like I always do), and run when I get to Louisville. I would take the bus/a cab to Cherokee Park and run 8-10, which would be probably 6:00pm or so... totally doable, as the high on Sat there is 81 and the park is full of trees (although hilly):
c) sleep till like 6:30 tomorrow, run 4-5 mi and *also* run in KY on Saturday (maybe 5-6) d) some other duh option
You should probably get up at the crack of dawn on Friday (today) like I am to do your long run so you can be less stressed out about running in Louisville. More importantly though, you should tell me when you go to Louisville so we can schedule a running/coffee/ice cream/whatever date!
Sooo...I totally didn't set my alarm. Oops. Just got back from 6 miles, so I guess I'll just plan on heading to the park tomorrow. If I run around the park and back to the hotel, that will be a nice 8, which will give me five running days this week (my goal for summer) and a nice boost of miles before starting official training.
Yep, he's doing US History. He said the same thing you said, it's a long week but he would totally do it again. Apparently like a big reunion for him, he's seen people from undergrad and one of his high school teachers.
