If you were 12 or a parent of a 12 yo in the hospital?
Some acquaintance/ friends of ours have a 12 yo that's been in the hospital for a week. They haven't been able to diagnose her yet. High fever, elevated liver enzymes, rash... most of the tests are normal. Sounds like they will be a bit longer.
DD11 and I are putting together a goody bag with puzzle books, playing cards, snacks, maybe lotion and lip gloss. Anything else? I'm not sure if she has an iPod or anything there with her.
Poor thing I had those exact symptoms when I was pregnant and I was in the hospital for a week. It sucked so hard and I just wanted to go home. BTW, they never figured out what is was.
Magazines, candy, book, maybe some markers and a sketch pad?
Plus lots of visitors. Not one person other than my husband visited me and it was depressing.
Thanks all! Good ideas. I was drawing a blank. I hope she likes One Direction. I let Tori pick out the magazine and didn't pay attention until we were checking out. $10 and nothing inside besides OD.
calamity Have you ever had problems with it after that? It's so weird. She's been sick almost a month and in the children's hospital about a week. They are doing a liver biopsy this afternoon.
puddleofgrace I still love to color, but prefer my own crayons. The kids always color uneven and mess them up. lol

No problems since, although there is a growth on my liver they think it's benign. Once in a while I do have pain there and I always worry that it will go wonky again.
It sucks not knowing whats wrong with you, especially with something so crucial as your liver.
