What kind of spray paint did you use? What prep did you do? How is it holding up? We were given a little tykes picnic/sand table and it is extremely faded. I thought about painting it, but am not sure it is worth the work. Do you think the paint can hold up to the use a table and seat would get?

I used the Rustoleum plastic spray paint. I did prime some of the house, too. But only because I had a plastic spray paint primer sitting around. My house was only painted about a month ago, so it's still holding up just fine. I waited the full 7 days the can recommended for it to cure before putting it in use.
I used Rustoleum plastic spray paint also. I didn't do anything to prep other than to scrub with soapy water and let it dry for a day. It has only been a few months but accept for a small spot on the door where it hits the outside of the house all is holding up.

I'd worry it might rub off on clothes on the seat. I painted my playhouse over a year ago with the krylon fusion for plastics. It is wearing well except for a couple areas that were already damaged (rough patches the previous owner might have tried to paint?).
I used the plastic paint for a few items several years ago, and they held up well. One was the lid/seat on a rolling cart. The owner used it to haul music, and used the lid to set her amp on. It held up surprisingly well. I also used it on the outside of a plastic 'treasure chest' that my grandsons used as a toy box. It was like new when they got rid of it last year.
I think prep is key, as is allowing it to cure before using.
