I'm going to a sports chiropractor, I know that seems odd, but he mostly did soft tissue/muscle work. AND he is flippin' fantastic. Anyway, my first shin splint EVER. Any suggestions?
Check to see if you need new shoes (that was my problem)
DO NOT wear flip flops (not sure where you are located, but flip flops will do nothing but make it worse)
Ice, foam roll and compression sleeves if you have them (I slept in mine each night)
Here's to a quick recovery!
No flip flops?? This does not compute in the state if Florida. But I don't where chinsy flip flops, mine has arch support is that better?
California girl here, so I understand! It's not the support, its that you use your those same muscles to be able to walk in flip flops. It's not forever, just til your shin splint goes away :-)
