Would anyone be interested in a weekly post where we post pics of our runs from the week? scenery, cool stuff, crazy things, whatever.. I love seeing the difference of all the places we run/bike/walk. Plus I am crazy bored at work on this gorgeous day and need entertainment
Sigh. This topic makes me sad. I had the best running path ever. Then the road opened to traffic. The shared path is still an awesome place to run (18 miles out and back of rolling hills) but the traffic is so, so close to the path, it's really curvy, and nothing separates the road from the path in most places except a split rail fence. People speed, the don't pay attention, and huge trucks use it. Several accidents have occurred in the 6 months it's been open when people have veered off the road. I get scared now and I most certainly don't take the stroller. RIP running trail
Here it is last summer when it was just the runners and bikers

Do you happen to be in the PA burbs? Something like that just opened near me, but before it opened, people used it for running/biking and I kept hearing about how great it was.
It would be a beautiful running/bike path, if it wasn't for the tractor trailers and all.
YES! It's the 202 Bypass that goes from Gwynedd to Doylestown. My neighborhood is right at the beginning - there is literally an access from a cul de sac to the path. It was perfection.
I am happy to hear I am not the only one mourning the loss of it. I have been in contact with the project managers, PENNDOT and my local state rep asking for ways to make it safer for bikers and pedestrians, to no avail. I feel like the crazy SAHM who people think has nothing better to do, but it has SO much potential. It's just downright unsafe though

Hi neighbor! I'm in Lansdale.
It is really tight. My H has been bemoaning the fact that it was outdated before it was eve opened
We are totally neighbors I am technically North Wales. Yeah, the road is great and horrible at the same time. It really cuts down travel time but tight, ugh, yes. Just two weeks ago there was that horrific crash up between Horsham and County Line. That's the scariest part IMO.
gummybear- A friend of ours clued us in on people being allowed to bike/run on the road before it opened. H took his bike up there and said it was awesome.
I have been stuck between 2 tractor trailers on that road. Terrifying.
I've been running on it since it was nothing but dirt! I had my second DD in July 11 and once I got the all clear from the Dr. I was on it with the stroller. Before I was in shape enough to run I would just push the stroller, literally over piles of dirt and rock. It was awesome. I always stayed on the path, because once the road was finished I saw cops using it to get to wherever quickly, at 100 mph. But sigh, yeah, it was gorgeous and quiet and challenging.
I think it will take something tragic to make them do something. Unfortunately.
