Lol, I (heart) Zoidberg! Thanks for showing the love this morning girls!
i had an Olympic this morning that went well . Highlights were that I was 2nd female out of the water (the only girl that beat me is an elite!!!), and AG 1st. But, it was an itty bitty race, so it isn't like I would have such an experience at a big race.
And wouldn't you know: likely my only 1st place EVER and they didn't do awards!! This is a microcosm of my life, lol.
The course was totally wrong. My watch was effed up, but the general consensus was that the swim was a whopping 1.4 miles (should be 1500m or appx .9 mile), bike was 22 miles (should be 25), run was 6.5 miles, (should be 6.2). The results online are not even correct (except for swim time & final time). It was a terribly directed race, actually.
My times were appx: swim 37 (~1.4m), t1 1:35, bike 1:10 (~22m), t2 0:52, run 1:04 (6.5m), total time: 2:55:23
I was hoping that this race would be a good benchmark for setting more specific goals for my 70.3, but it's sort of hard because the race was so weird.
2 more weeks and I'll get to do it again on *hopefully* a true course!
congrats!!! one of the thing with triathlons is that courses are inaccurate all the time. one of my friends (pro) had a 14 minute swim the other day when she normally swims 19. at college nationals, my friend rode a 57 min when she normal rides at least 5 min longer. i know the 5k in my last triathlon was long. i almost think its the status quo and definitely does not speak less about WINNING!

Totally true - this one was brutally inaccurate though (at least, in my experience). I am so spoiled by a fantastic local race company, so this one seemed outrageous in every way. It was a reeeeally small race - I need an asterisk after my AG 1 Thank you, though!
