I had braces when I was a kid, but in the past few years I noticed that my teeth have moved slightly. I have no clue where my retainers are and haven't worn them in at least 7 years.
Anyway, my dentist told me that he can fix my teeth with invisilign in 7 or 8 months for about $2000 to 2500 out of pocket, insurance will cover the rest. He also said that this fix would be purely cosmetic.
It feels excessive spending that kind of money for purely cosmetic reasons, but the way one of my teeth looks is starting to bug me. H thinks I'm crazy for thinking about this.
Has anyone done invisilign? Care to share your experience? Was it worth it? Im not sure if this makes a difference, but i live in a hcol area does that quote sound about right to you? Thanks!
I had braces and still have my permanent retainers in from way back then. Getting those was the best idea ever. My new dentist seriously geeked out when she saw I had them. She was all "OMG I LOVE permanent retainers, these are the best! So glad you have them", cuz yeah, I wouldn't have worn that other retainer for too long.
I had braces when I was younger, and since I hadn't worn my retainers, my teeth had shifted too. The bottom teeth in the front was a bit crooked- barely noticeable to others but noticeable enough for me to feel bothered by it. I did get InvisAlign and it was the best investment. I did pay out of pocket, but used my FSA so it could be pre-tax dollars.
It was very easy, and I had it only for 9 months. I loved it, and have no regrets! PM me if you have any questions.
Eta- no one had an idea i had the invisalign in, and you just need to take it out when you eat and drink non-water. Really, it is pretty easy.
I didn't have braces growing up but my 2 top front teeth overlap slightly and it drives me insane. I have been seriously considering Invisilign for years but I was quoted around $5k (He said it would only take 6-8 months but that the price is the same for everyone no matter how much correction you need? I would only need top correction, not bottom). One day when I hit it big i'm going to do it. Nobody really notices but me.

Show us a photo of your smile and I'm sure you'll get honest opinions. I didn't get braces until I was an adult. I had some crowding in the front and I had clear braces for about 2 years. Invisalign wasn't an option for me. My teeth are perfect now and I'm 110% glad I went for it.
I say do it if you can afford it. If your teeth bother you then it's worth fixing. I've known people who've used Invisalign and love it. I'm trying to convince my H he should get it...
