Went into this morning's race with zero expectations. I've not been able to run much, with the weather finally cooperating I'm mostly on my bike. Between that, vacation, and a hilly course, I was expecting to finish and hoping to come in under 33 minutes really. No harm, no foul.
Instead, I felt awesome, tore up some hills. and took 48 seconds off my PR (previously 31:24) and came in at 30:36. I smell a sub 30! If I'd just hung onto vanillahip a little longer, I'd have come in under 30 but she lost me on the last hill. She did great too, I'll let her pipe in.
Since I did so well today, can I skip my tri? Water temp 63 degrees.
And NO you can't skip your tri - get it girl!!! You won't even notice water temp once you get going (as long as you do a warm up swim and get past the initial cold water breathlessness). Maybe you'll go sub 30 5K during your race!
