I went out for my regular Sunday ride this morning (although I went out too late and OMG SO HOT).
One of my shifters got kind of stuck with the chain not all the way on the gear (it was doing that annoying clicky thing), so I made a quick pit stop on the side of the trail so I could mess with it without crashing.
I was stopped for just a minute or two, and 2 people stopped to see if I needed a hand.
It's nice to know that if I ever was in actual trouble people would help me.

that's super nice.
ages ago, I got a flat on the Silver Comet trail in Atlanta and wasn't prepared. I've never wanted to hurt someone as much as I did the cyclist who passed me with two miles to go back to the trail head and said, "I've been there before, suck it up" and just kept on riding.

Yes, I have noticed that overall people are more friendly here. It's nice!
In the upper Midwest where I am from, people are polite but not warm, and have this code of not getting involved (which means that out of politeness, they will pretend not to notice that you are having trouble so as not to embarrass you - lol).
