Who has a laundry sink? do you use it a lot, and for what? What size is it? We are looking at installing one in our mudroom/laundry room. It will be limited in size to 20x20x10deep as I'd like to put it into my existing cabinet. I would like one for washing non-kitchen related items. But it now appears as though it will be a much bigger investment in both time and money than I'd originally anticipated. I am trying to decide if it's worth the headache.
I have a utility sink with 2 really big basins. Two usually seems unnecessary. I dye clothes, dump the dehumidifier, wash paint supplies, wash the dog, etc.
In your situation I would rather have the smaller sink than no sink. There are just a lot of things that I wouldn't want to do in the kitchen sink.
We're taking the kitchen sink from the little house and putting it in the laundry room in the big house...eventually. It's a large, deep, single bow. I plan on using it for soaking cloth diapers and bathing my beagle.

We don't and it is a huge pain. We are getting one installed and it will be about 400$ for plumbing and the sink. Washing paint stuff in the kitchen sink sucks, having to be worried about every single little drop, having nowhere to let stuff dry, etc.
We have a roughly 2'x2' utility sink (1 basin). We really only use it to wash the dog bed because it's in the basement with the washer and dryer. This is the first time in my life I've ever had a laundry sink; maybe that's why I don't really use it.

What's annoying is that you can get an entire unit including sink, cabinet and faucet for $280. but the cheapest I've found a stainless steel basin is $230, and I still have to buy a faucet and the plumbing supplies. So it'll cost much more.
My Dad is going to DIY by tying into the w/d water supply & drain.
We have one of the freestanding plastic sinks in our laundry room and I'm considering removing it and putting in a small utility closet for the vacuum and broom and things like that.
I've used it once in 2 years, it would be great if it was convenient to the garage but it isn't at all so if have something that needs washed in there or to wash greasy hands we have to track it through the house.
I can totally see a value in utility sinks, and we used it at my parents but it's not being used, it takes up space, and it isn't really possible to make it more useful.
We don't have one but I do want to install one for the reasons people have already stated above. I was hoping we can DIY since the water supply and drain is already in there. Come back and PIP if you decide to get one!
