What marathon are you training for? A trail marathon on August 3 and a small local marathon on September 28.
Where are you in your training (week/mpw/etc)? I have not really been counting weeks, but I'm running about 40 MPW. My long run this week will be 15 miles.
Who is helping you train? This can be a plan, SO, running group, etc I have a plan written by a friend of H, I am doing the 'key' workouts from it, but just winging it outside of that. I run with a running group on Saturdays, but they are only doing the September marathon, not the August one, so we are a little out of sync. I will probably aim to do most of my long runs on Friday mornings so that I can still run with the Saturday group. We'll see how that works out for me.
How is training going so far? Any highlights/lowlights yet? Highlights: I am not injured..yet. (Well, except for the blisters I had a few weeks ago.) Lowlights: 98% humidity. Mad armpit chafing. Where did that come from?
Why are you crazy enough to do a marathon?!? It is crazy NOT to do one. I wanted to do just one, but ever since then, I want to do one just a little faster. (This will be #3 and #4 if it all works out.)

Not how I planned this to go, but trying to make the best of it. Same thing happened last time, and I wound up with a HUGE PR.

Why are you crazy enough to do a marathon?!? I did my first full in 2010. Since then, it's been quite clear that I am a distance girl. I love the challenge of the marathon distance. I genuinely just really, really, enjoy race day.

How is training going so far? Any highlights/lowlights yet? A few weeks ago I broke through a mental glass ceiling with running with the stroller. I used to get bored and stop after about 3-4 miles, but I'm now up to 6-7 miles with it. This will help a lot with my training come fall when I will have DD #2 with me 3 days/week and need to get runs in.

Well, it's day 1. But I am SO not motivated. It's awful. I haven't been running much, haven't been posting around here much, just haven't been prioritizing fitness lately. I'm tired and I'm burned out on school but I really need to pull my shit together because I have some big goals.

Good question. I like doing hard things, I guess. This is why it took me 2 months to talk myself down from a career in surgery. I'm trying to channel that more into extracurricular things like running because I think it's a hell of a lot healthier, for me anyway.

Why are you crazy enough to do a marathon? I think they are fun! Freedom's Run is very local to our new house, so we are excited for the challenge (it is a hard course)

Where are you in your training (week/mpw/etc)? I've been running since last year, but just started my serious marathon training this year. Up to around 20-25 miles weekly right now.
Who is helping you train? My H ran it last year and is doing it again this year with me. So we train together and keep each other accountable.
How is training going so far? Any highlights/lowlights yet? Pretty good so far. Most long runs I feel really good. Low = we have been doing IF treatments so I've missed some time training by having to take time off here and there.
Why are you crazy enough to do a marathon?!? I dont know! This time last year, I ran my first half and swore I'd never do a marathon. I wanted to challenge myself I guess. My goal is just to survive it!
Ok, so I had a really lame running highlight tonight. 3 miles at an 8:36 pace. Lol Yeah, not a great pace for me. Hell, that's my exact marathon PR pace, so that's depressing, but I was just supposed to be testing out the hamstring. Injury & the fact that it was about 20 degrees warmer (85* & humid as hell at 6:30PM) then when I had to stop running 8 wks ago means that I'm going to choose to be happy about those 3 miles. My leg feels ok. I'm going to try 4.5 slower miles on bridges tomorrow. Hopefully this is my turning point into another great training cycle.

That is awesome! Chicago scares me in terms of weather. I ran it as my first full in 2010 and have some redeeming to do. That is so awesome that you went from an original goal of 3:55 to nailing a 3:46! That makes me think that maybe I am less insane

Who is helping you train? Me, myself and I. I think I'll use another HH Intermediate plan.
How is training going so far? Any highlights/lowlights yet? This will be marathon #4. 4:18--->4:13--->3:47:58. My goal last year was sub 4:00, and the perfect marathon weather gave me 3:48, so this year I am giving myself 2 options: qualify for Boston (3:35), or cross the finish line with a baby in my belly. The Chicago weather is always hit or miss, so I am going to push myself this summer training in the Chicago "heat" just to be prepared. I'm from the south, but never ran distance there, so don't know how you ladies run in that heat/humidity.
Why are you crazy enough to do a marathon?!? I'm awesome enough to do a marathon. Next on my adult lifestyle agenda: triathlons and ultramarathons.

Who is helping you train? This can be a plan, SO, running group, etc - I've combined a couple of plans for something that I think will work well for me, and also plan in doing some training runs with friends and he local running group!
How is training going so far? Any highlights/lowlights yet? - I just hope the doc/PT can figure out my back pain easily and the fix is easy. I've had lower back pain since January and the last doc didn't really know. Sitting is so bad some days that I cry in the car on my 1.25 hr commute home.
