My random: I bought a few more home decor items to make my apartment look more finished, which made me realize I really need to start hosting people in my home more often. I wish I lived closer to more of you.
Last night I drunkenly bought tickets to see Elton John in Vegas in October. No regrets!
Fun! We didn't go to the show when we were there years ago, but we did stop by the gift shop. I was thisclose to buying a t-shirt that said "The Bitch is Back," but then I saw like 5 middle aged ladies with fanny packs buying them. I put it back on the rack.
You guys, my husband just got offered a temp job, eeeeee!!! He is cautious, because he's been offered them before and they've fallen through, but oh mylanta, I am practically doing a jig over here.

This is not meant to be mean or snarky, but I just don't get "baby fever." I literally have no interest whatsoever in children. Is something broken in me? I just cannot comprehend wanting to have children.

lol. This is me. 100%. I feel like my "baby loving emotions" were accidentally transposed into my love for cats. I looooove every cat I see. Every time I see a baby? Meh.

LoveTrains: You are not broken! Plenty of people feel similarly.
I know intellectually that I want children one day, but I do not feel a hormonal or emotional urge to do so yet. My mom had four kids and said she never really felt "baby fever," for what it's worth.
I'm moving in less than a month--squeee! That's my random. That and I took a part time job that has be super busy and now I'm too tired to pack some stuff I was supposed to pack tonight.
Aww ladies you're not broken. Some people want kids and some don't, totally personal decision. You need to do what makes you happy.
I've always imagined my life with kids. DH and I have talked about it since early on in dating. Now that we are married we looked at each other this past weekend and were like why wait. We know we want this and aren't getting any younger.

Good luck with the move, MCC! And thanks, all. I just realized that not only will he finally be making $$, but his first day is right after I finish the June program, and I have the day off. So I get the WHOLE HOUSE TO MYSELF, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
More randoms: my grandfather got moved from the hospital to a rehab place, and seems to be doing better. However, I don't think I'm going to be able to visit him this weekend, because I still have the head cold from hell and don't want to bring my germs to him/the rehab. So now I'm irrationally annoyed that I changed our dinner reservation to next weekend, because now I may have to change it again.
But on the head cold note- I finally caved and used a neti pot. I don't know why I waited so long. It's SO disgusting (So, so disgusting), but man. It really helps.
5kc, congrats to your H! Enjoy your day of alone time You have definitely earned it.
Can I use this thread to be an AW about weight loss? I usually brag to my H and BFF but they are both feeling overweight right now so I don't want to be insensitive. But OMG, I am at my lowest weight in at least 1.5 years. I gained about 10 lbs last summer, but even before that I was a few pounds above my comfort zone. I was hard core dieting in the fall and got back to about where I was this time last year, but once I hit that mark I decided give myself a break and just try to make good choices through the winter. Somehow in the last month this translated into me losing another 2 pounds. I couldn't believe it when I saw the scale last week, and thought it was a dehydration fluke, but it's been a week now and I haven't gone back up (and haven't changed anything with my diet). I am SO HAPPY.
Is anyone following the Bruins? I'm not a big hockey fan but my H is so we have been watching all the games. I fell asleep during OT #1 last night and am dragging today.
And I never had baby fever either. Kid 1 was a surprise and proof that condoms aren't 100% effective. Kid 2 was strategically planned but we really had to psych ourselves up for it. We wanted kids but god knows when we would have gotten around to it.
