I was dying for some ice cream last night but was too lazy to go to Cabot's for my Richardson's fix.
....And suddenly I have an idea for my fill-in birthday dinner later this week until we can get to Craigie, heh.
I am exhausted. Thankfully, the weather mostly held for Saturday - it was rainy when we got to the apartments in the morning, but cleared up by the time we got to the island. They were even able to do most of the activities outside. Unfortunately, the day got off to a less-than-stellar start when the buses left before myself or my staff member were on them. I was PISSED. I've already sent an email to our POC at the bus company complaining. Not only did they leave before we were on the bus (or, you know, told them to leave), they were double booked, and one of the buses tried to get on Storrow Drive. I got home at around 7 pm, and collapsed.
Sunday, I woke up with a hideous cold. I lazed around a bit, then got it together to go see Before Midnight. (It was really good.) Then we grabbed some groceries, I made dinner, and went to bed at 9 o'clock. I am currently on like 3 different types of cold meds, drinking Odwalla like it's my job, and counting the seconds until 5:30 when I can go home and put on my sweats. Bah.
5kcandlesinthewind, I highly recommend trying one of Cabot's cakes. You can customize one if you order it two days in advance, and one of the options is to have a cake base layer with your choice of ice cream flavor on top. Hello best of both worlds!
We got their cupcakes a few weeks ago; H didn't really care for them, but I loved them. A lot. And I wish I'd never tried them, because now I keep thinking about them, heh.
I spent the weekend in the woods with a group of sorority girls. Sounds like the start of a joke right? lol Anyway, I know some of you know this but for others, I serve on the Board of Directors for my sorority's National Organization and this past weekend was our annual leadership retreat for the undergraduate sisters taking on certain positions in their chapter.
We go to an overnight camp and they do team building, wall climbing and we offer some educational training sessions to help prepare them for the upcoming year in their chapters. It's also the one event every year where they really get a chance to bond with sisters from other chapters as well as members of the Board of Directors.
It was a monsoon Friday but thank god the weather turned in our favor for Saturday and Sunday cause I think we would have had a mutiny our hands otherwise.
Saturday we trekked out to Ikea to get a closet organizing system for E's room. We also went to Costco and out for dinner.
Yesterday I spent the day with a friend. We met for a sushi lunch and then went to the Natick mall. I bought E's crib, dresser, and curtains for his room at Pottery Barn Kids. I also went to the pet shop in Natick to get some toys and food for Ava, the Container Store, and Paper Source at Legacy Place. I made some adorable art for his room that I can't wait to show off once I am finished.

Sounds fun! I'm going to my sorority's annual convention at the end of the month, can't wait!!

I still have a cold or something. Probably something. L came down with it as well, and he's running a fever and acting sickly. So it was a very low key weekend.

I worked Saturday and Sunday morning. Saturday evening I had a first date. I was not thrilled about the guy, but I was thrilled about the food. We were both surprised to have such delicious pizza in Manchester, of all places (we ate here: www.900degrees.com/ ). Sunday afternoon I ran some errands and relaxed.
I am glad all of you had so much fun at the GTG. I wish I could have been there!

Was that your first time at 900 Degrees?! Cmon, even I've been there before.
I'm still jealous over the gtg you peeps had on Friday, though judging from the weather report it would have been a hell of a ride there and back. Saturday SO and I headed up to the concert early and hung around the outlets in Tilton. He bought some new shirts and I got some kitchen stuff and undahpants.
The Avett Brothers concert was AWESOME. There was cider on draft, which made non-beer drinking SO very happy. I got to try a new variety of Magic Hat which made me even happier. Even though it was a sold out show there was no one on either side of us so we weren't crammed in like sardines. Poor SO, he suffers through my concerts like a saint. I even offered him an out to go hang out outside during the opening act (very traditional bluegrass!), but he stuck with me. Sunday we didn't do too much, but we did look at some mattresses. I think we're sold on memory foam, we just need to pull the trigger on the Bob's base model or something better. We'll see!
Weekend as good. Friday night I went out with girlfriends to the newish tapas place nearby - Barcelona. We had to wait over an hour for our table (with a reservation) but they ended up comping us a ton of stuff to make up for it (I hear this Is pattern there - food was good, though!).
Saturday I got my hair cut/colored. My stylist is by Christopher Columbus park. I got stuck on Red Sox T madness on the way there, and Pride Parade madness on the way home. Not fun. That night DH took DS1 to the Sox game while I stayed home with the baby.
Sunday I did a 5 mile run to prep for the BAA 10K in two weeks. Then lots of yard work and we all went out to dinner at the Mexican place next to Legal seafood harborsde that for the life of me I can't remember the name of. And I had too many margaritas.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the GTG, I didn't get home until almost midnight Thursday/Friday night. Friday we spent the day doing laundry and sleeping in from our long flights home. Saturday I ended up working most of the day while DH and my dad started opening the pool at our house. Sunday I ended up working again for a few hours before going out with friends for drinks and dinner. Thus the life of a real estate agent with 5 deals going on. Hopefully our pool will be good to use this weekend and I can relax by it for a few hours.
I had Friday off, but it rained allllll day, so I didn't do anything terribly exciting. When DH got home from work, we ran over to Sears to buy a bagger attachment for the tractor. fuuun.
Saturday I did a lot of gardening and mowed the lawn. My peas are looking great!! I am predicting first harvest at the end of this week, especially with the rain/sun combo we have slated.
Sunday I went scuba diving in Portsmouth. It was fricken cold, man. I don't understand I agree to do these things, lol.

I had such a fun weekend in Philly! Friday I went to Bibou, which is a very well known BYOB in the city. I had the bone marrow and it was amazing. It melted in my mouth. Then we got caught in the rain on the way back to my friend's and it was a city miracle - a cab pulled up right in front of us to drop someone off and we were able to snag it just as thunder, lightning, and torrential rain broke loose.
Saturday my friend and I went kayaking down the Batsto river in south jersey, not too far from where we grew up. It is in the pine lands. Of course at one point I capsized my kayak and took a swim. But it was all good as it wasn't too cold, I swam to shore and was able to get back in and continue.
My foodie adventure continued with a visit to Pizza Brain and Little Baby's ice cream in Philly - both very good if you are ever down there! Then we went to Loco Pez for brunch on Sunday and it was also delicious - I had chicken and waffles and the chicken was chipotle fried chicken and covered with a chorizo gravy and then topped with maple syrup.
