I just spent 7 hours walking up and down steps and concrete. My feet ACHE right now- I'm SUPER paranoid b/c I just had a hairline fracture in my heel and I'm trying to build back up running.
I have 3 more days of this walking- hopefully tomorrow atleast half of it will be on dirt/turf.
Please tell me this is normal and I am being a paranoid wuss. I really don't have a choice or not to be out there- this is for work.
Parts of my feet have ached after long runs at various points in my training. It has not been serious, and has resolved itself within a couple days.
Good news (not that you had achey feet too, but ya know what I mean). I hope this is the case with me too. I guess I just didn't think about it like that because I wasn't actually "running".
I wore old running shoes- thoughts on wearing running shoes? Or stick to old shoes- I don't believe they are worn out, I just switched to a new style.
I wear running shoes (not my current pair) when I am traveling and doing a lot of walking. I would think that would be fine, unless you are walking in an area where boots (work or hiking) would be better for sole stiffness/protection.

I always have achy feet during and after an indoor dog tournament because of the concrete, and that's with padding and matting in the racing rings. It usually goes away in a day or two and it helps to roll a tennis ball under my foot. I usually wear older running shoes and while I still get achy at outdoor tournaments it's usually gone by morning so hopefully the turf/dirt will be easier on your feet.
