The new 10k looks fun! Im thinking about it. This race was my first half ever. Definitely do a Disney race if you ever can. It was awesome. Yes it's crowded and expensive but Disney puts on an amazing race experience!!

I am doing it with a "disney person" friend who bascially has done all the challenges for medals. I am excited about it but hope i don't drown in a sea of tulle.
i be typing from me phone. typos and grammer dont count.

That can't be guaranteed. The level of costumes worn for Disney races, this one in particular, is just baffling to me. I have no idea how people even run in the some of the costumes I've seen. More power to them, it's just not for me.

I think that's a specific coast to coast medal for the "women" races. Which is such a great marketing tactic. I loved Disneyland last year, it was so awesome, because it was a completely new course for me, the race just flew by. Also got my reigning PR out there.
I'm so burnt out on WDW races, the courses are the same. Told H after I finished Disneyland and got my coast to coast that I was done with Disney races but I love my sister so here I am. All he did was roll his eyes and said, "they just keep sucking you in don't they?"
ETA: So you got the glass slipper challenge? I can't believe how fast that thing sold out.

Jenn...YUP! But I got in on the preregistration that happened last week. Also, I agree! They suck you in with a new medal, new challenge, wanting to be a "legacy" runner (I have done Tink the past 2 years...), but I still love it :-)
But but Kirkette! The medal it self has pink and purple!
Yes...I am registered for the Glass Slipper Challenge and pre registered for Tink! I am a Disney Medal Whore, yes. I.am.
Right there with ya, sister! I've done one Disney race already this year, and have 3 more in the next 8 months. Here is my wallet Disney. Please take all of my money.

Soooo you have this reaction!!? lol. I wanted to skip Princess, so I could do Wine & Dine or Tower of Terror, since I can only justify one FL trip this year. But the goal is to have at least one medal from each of the major races.

Yep, that sounds like me (angel). Of course, it's easier since I live a day's drive from Orlando. But to be fair, Expedition Everest and Tower of Terror were my husband's idea, and a bunch of friends talked us into Wine and Dine. But the Minnie Mouse 10K was all me! I agreed to W&D because I knew Princess 2014 is out for me.
Now my sister is the really crazy one. She wants to do Dopey in 2015.

Dumbo or this glass slipper challenge don't seem too crazy to me. I think a 10k would be a nice way to loosen up the legs for the half the following day.
Goofy or Dopey - um yeah, hell no. People be freakin' crazy. The funny thing is I know several Goofy veterans and they're all, "oh it's no big deal." I just sort of look at them like they have three heads of something. I think it's like the whole pregnancy/labor thing, your mind blocks the trauma and so you think it's no big deal.

When we asked a friend of mine (one of the group of W&D enablers) about when he did the Goofy, he said "It was just stoopid." The races, the training, the whole thing. I figure that's probably pretty accurate. I did point out to my sister that the training plan for this year's Dopey is something like 29 weeks. Eesh.

my inlaws moved to Fla this year so I have one foot in the door of this becoming an issue. Wine and Dine is attractive for next year. Any must-gets from the expo?

The expos at Disney races are DANGEROUS!. There are so many exhibitors. At the princess expo, don't forget to get pixie dusted.

The training sucked BIG TIME. I can't wait to train for a marathon without the back-to-back runs. The 10-20 back-to-back runs on the weekend before Christmas ruined Christmas for me. I would totally do it again though!
I'm doing the Glass Slipper Challenge next year -- I ran Princess this year (it was my first half) and wasn't going to do it again, but the new 10K and challenge sucked me in.
