We registered for the Beco Gemini but did not receive it as a gift so we'll just end up buying a carrier ourselves. However, I'm second guessing whether to get that one or the ever-popular Ergo. I originally thought I would want the versatility of the Beco allowing the baby to face both in and out, but now I'm not sure.
If you're buying yourself, I'd take a quick peek on CL and see if anything is for sale. Then I'd buy whatever I could get a good deal on that was also a good brand: ( list stolen from a random blog)

I got a Beco because it was supposed to be the carrier my husband used. Supposedly it fits better for people with long torsos. He never used it and we never tried the Ergo...so I'm not very helpful, but I do like the Beco!
DS really likes to face out so I wish we had a Beco for that reason. But I remember using a friend's Beco and I really disliked the buckle release on it. The I'm small framed so the Ergo works well, it would work better if DH would use it:) How's that for helpful?
Voted beco, have it and love it. however, I would suggest going and trying on both of them once you have the baby. I was set on one and choose a different one altogether after trying on all sorts of carriers with my baby at a local baby store.
I have an Ergo and I love it. My DS is 11 months old and I wear him in it everyday. I can easily wear him for an hour without any issue. I have never tried the becco so I can't compare them. I also thought the infant insert was useless and I used my Moby wrap until he was big enough for the Ergo without the insert.

Never FF your child unless they are on your back. It isn't a good position for their development. Their butt should be in line or lower than their knees
I have a Babyhawk mei tai and I love it, but you do have to tie it on, not snap. That's actually part of the charm for me, way easier to get a good tight fit. We have an Ergo as well that H uses, but LO loves the mei tai.
I love my Beco Gemini. And DD loves to face out (its ok if you're doing it for a short amount of time. Not all day everyday). I think I wouldve really regretted the ergo.
I also tried both on when I was pregnant and the beco was more comfortable.
