1. I was laid off this week. My position was part-time and contract, expected to end in October, but is ending 6/30 at the close of the fiscal year due to cut-backs in programs/projects that are not fully grant funded. This means I won't have income I was expecting in July-Oct.
2. C has been super supportive. We need to reassess our finances, which we have already been tight since I'm not doing my normal level of self-employment work and don't have any maternity leave income. (Boy do I wish I had gotten private short-term disability insurance coverage.)
3. Otherwise, things are going well with the pregnancy, our relationship, etc.
4. My board exams are in less than 6 weeks! Baby is due in less than 9! Craziness!
5. I have a big conference I'm involved with (partially through the job I was laid off from) next week, which means I have a number of meetings leading up to it and two full 10+ hour days those days. I'm looking forward to it, but will be glad when it's over.
6. My dad is coming up this weekend to spend Father's Day with us and help with some stuff around the house. That will be nice and I'm sure productive.
7. I need a day off, between all of the above, plus pride, I think I have one free weekend day between now and July 4th.
8. C and I were planning on going up to Vancouver for an overnight that weekend to celebrate our 8th anniversary and have a mini-baby moon. I don't know that we can justify the cost now and that makes me sad.
9. Once I'm less busy, I'm looking forward to devoting some time to decorating the baby/guest room. It should be pretty cheap and easy, I just need some time to work on it.
10. This post has been how I feel right now, scattered, good, sad, etc. but I'm glad to be "back" here after a while without posting.
1. I'm thinking of asking the Dr about a g-tube for Owl, I'm tired of fighting over food and dealing with puke every day.
2. #1 makes me feel like a bad mom but I'm so tired of this fight and so tired of doctors making comments about her weight. I'm just going to say it.... I give up.
3. I need some stress free time with the kids, I've been in a funk because of #1&2 and haven't been the most patient parent.
4. Owl's birthday party is this weekend, hopefully it goes smoothly.
5. I think we're going camping next week, I love camping.
6. We're starting an egg farm, I might bring up the possibility of raising meat birds too.
7. I have a mole that is worrying me, WebMD isn't helping me feel better about it either.
8. The signing of adoption paperwork got pushed back another month, to August, ASW needs to get on it.
1. a iced mocha and the remnents of my kid's doughnut have left me a shaky mess.
2. My work phone has not rung once this morning. I am pretty sure that is a first.
3. I can't decide on whether or not to cancel dinner with my friend tonight based on the weather. Apparently, the weather people can't make up their minds. Bad storm? No storm at all? Before 5pm? After 7pm?
4. Every time I let my office phone go to VM, I think of Mandy. Though I always call back!
5. Anyone have a soda stream? thoughts?
6. I am listening to the podcast of the table reading of Scandal. I love that show.
7. 4 hrs later....got lunch so #1 is fixed. Weather forecast changed so dinner is back on. #3 fixed.

1. A got an email last night for an interview tomorrow for a job at their location 30 mins from my house! Please cross everything, say your prayers, do a good luck dance, whatever it is that you do in this situation.
2. A also had to go to a second meeting with her current supervisor and HR this morning after her shift ended. This douchenozzle has some really great stories he's cooking up and HR is buying them hook, line and sinker. For some reason he has it out for her. I have my theories none of which have anything to do with her ability to do her job.
3. A text me when she got home that she's so professionally frustrated. The other supervisors she has reported to there have had no concerns whatsoever and in fact some of the seniors she's met have encouraged her to go that route and become an executive.
4. So...yeah. Cross everything.
5. E has 3 more days of school after today. So.much.going.on. Plus Father's Day on Sunday. I hope I am not forgetting anything important.
6. Late this afternoon is E's GS bridging ceremony. She'll be a Brownie now. I'm leaving work a bit early to go.
7. So glad the weekend is almost here.
8. I have honey garlic chicken leftovers for lunch. I'm worried I'm going to smell like a garlic factory.
1. I'm a bit of a mess. 2. 2 of my supervisees are arguing with each other and have a bizarre personal connection that is very negative. 3. I have not freaking ovulated and everyday I don't ovulate is pushing back IVF #2. 4. The community committee that I'm on through work had a big event last week that was a huge success. I am therefore feeling more motivated to do my work hobby than my actual work. 5. Through my work hobby I got the opportunity to go to an expensive 4 day training next week that I'm excited for. 6. Our CSA delivery started last week. We're first time members. 7. I'm still trying very hard to mostly eat Paleo. I've never been a fad diet person, but my body seems to respond pretty well to this. 8. My life feels like it's stuck on pause.

1. We had our first prenatal appointment with the midwife today (9w). It went well! 2. They did not do an ultrasound but scheduled one for Tuesday so we could check on the bean, mostly because of my previous loss. After that we should be able to hear the hb on a doppler and I won't care so much about ultrasounds. 3. Cell free fetal DNA test is scheduled too so we should know whether or not we are OK on the trisomy front in the next couple of weeks, as well as whether we are expecting a boy bean or a girl bean. Crazy. 4. Work has been insanely busy. 5. It doesn't help that I feel like I am always going to the doctor, between RE (now graduated), midwife, psychiatrist, psychologist, ophthalmologist, and PCP. Now I am going to the chiropractor too for a hip issue. 6. I am starting to get excited about summer plans. I have a few trips to Maine planned, a fried-clam expedition with a friend, and a cookout at our house in the next couple of months. 7. It's strawberry season! I bought some at the farmer's market today. Plus local asparagus, sugar snap peas, and a rosemary plant for our garden. 8. I don't think my dinner was big enough. 9. I want ice cream. 10. The end.
