Wear wicking clothing, bring a towel and a water bottle! Honestly, the first time I did hot yoga I hated it. Just walking in the room made me want to run back out, it was SO hot. But I've done it since and love it - I think the more you do it the more your body adjusts. Keep an open mind, and don't be afraid to take a child's pose if you need to!
Wear the least amount of clothing you possibly can and enjoy. Bring a towel, lots of water and be prepared to be really hot and sweaty. It's good hot though, you feel like your muscles are capable of unlimited stretchiness.
Don't be afraid to find savasana or child's pose if you feel overwhelmed or dizzy. Yoga is a funny thing. Some days you feel awesome and some days you feel like a forward fold is going to make you die.
Thank you:) I'm a little nervous because I'm a novice when it comes to yoga:) I'm having nightmares of slipping on my mat and falling flat on my face because of all the sweat:)
Just let your instructor know you're a newbie, he/she will guide you through modifications if you need them. I dress in layers. A lightweight wrap, wicking tank ( I love LLL tanks that cinch on the bottom) and capris bc I have chubby chubby thighs. Bring a towel for you and one for your may and a big bottle of water. Take it easy if you get dizzy. I ditch the wrap quickly, but sometimes toss it back on for savasana depending how warm the room still is.
