I took yesterday as a sick day. I got myself a 75 minute massage, a pedicure (seriously, $225 in services and I paid $35 out of pocket! And the pedicurist threw in a free salt scrub after we started talking about our kids) and took myself to lunch. Then I went home, sent the nanny home, cleaned my desk while PF napped, and spent the afternoon with my girl.
I have to switch deodorants. I started using a natural one, and it's awesome--I smell great all day. But I've developed a bad rash in my armpits. I'm not sure if it's something in the deodorant, when I am shaving, or my body chemistry changing again. I ordered something from somewhere else to try and see if it'll work, the reviews say it works all day--we shall see.
They finally turned the water on in my bathroom! YAY!

I'm using stuff I bought on etsy, it's from a company called "Dailey's". They make one for sensitive skin and an extra strength one. I've been using the extra strength jasmine and it lasts through work and usually through my nightly workouts. It's not terribly expensive ($7.50 for the invisible solid, $8.50 for the cream), it lasts a while because you don't need to use a lot.
I ordered a coconut oil based one from chagrin valley soap and salve, I want to see if it'll work all day and not make me break out in a rash.

And the stuff I ordered from thinkgeek was delivered the other day, but not here I should have had it delivered to my house, it would have been here by now--but since some of it is for someone at work I had it delivered here thinking it would be easier. Yeah, no. Next time I am shipping ups.

Dixie, I'm so jealous of your spa day! That sounds incredible!!
I finally finished my dress last night. It turned out much better than I'd expected. I could point out about a half a dozen things that I'd like to fix, but all in all I think it turned out really well, especially since I hadn't sewn an article of clothing in about 15 years.
DS had a rough night last night, so I did too. When my alarm went off to get up for my walk this morning, I just turned it off and went back to sleep. I'm a very "all or nothing" personality type, so I really have to not get used to going back to sleep again...
Today's my Friday. I'm off to the "cabin" (i.e., ginormous mansion) my parents are staying at this week until Saturday, then driving an hour west to go to my IL's cabin. Four days on boats on lakes. Cannot wait.

Yesterday made me realize how much I TRULY loathe where I am, work-wise. Next week I have to use a vacation day because I don't have childcare for 1 day and I can't wait.

Your day yesterday sounds amazing dixienormous. I am filled with envy.
cuddlyevil, I had to switch deodorants recently too. Half way through a stick of the same deodorant I've been using for the last 10 years and all the sudden I started getting super smelly in like, 3 hours. I switched to a Dove green tea and cucumber and I really like it.

I have so much homework to do this evening and all I want to do is sit in my bed. I've been having some stomach/digestive issues in the past couple of months and I need to go see a GI doc but I don't want to find a new one and my old one only does pediatric GI. My Endo doc thinks I might have IBD. Denial isn't working for me anymore.
A made her first sign tonight. Milk, of course. She's been making the motion for a week or so, but not in context, so I thought she was just playing with her hands. Tonight we were finishing up in her highchair and she totally looked at me and pumped her little fist in the air.

I had a similar reaction when DS started signing. His daycare taught him, so we kind of learning together.
We were sitting at the table at a restaurant and he started hitting his little fists together. Thank goodness my mom was there because she's the one who recognized that it was the sign for shoes. I looked under the table and, sure enough, he had kicked his shoes off and they were laying on the floor.
