So the saga of the $600 rug continues!
(Backstory: H did not want to spend $600 on a rug. I showed him tons more that were more expensive so I ordered it in March. It did not ship until end of May. Once I got it, I was super happy.)
Well, SOMEONE (coughmonkeycough) left a cup of milk unattended and it got all over. So we look and there are no cleaning instructions on the back of the rug or on the website. So we google instead and google tells us you can hose wool rugs down and use woolite. So H takes it outside and immediately regrets the decision because the color runs. Awesome. Everything that was once white is now a nice shade of green. I called and left a voicemail for Shades of Light.
They called and said "Um, there should have been instructions in the packaging. You cannot wash those with water." Nope, no instructions. She says she'll consult with her manager and call back. She does in less than an hour and says "Yep, vendor forgot the instructions. We can send you the plastic wrap, give us a call when it's packed and we'll get you a new rug." And the customer service rep (I swear, they may only have one, so big ups to Ashton!) said she'd get me cleaning instructions from the vendor via email herself so she could make sure I got them for next time because I mentioned having kids and a cat and that it says good for high traffic on the site, but it'd obviously need spot cleaned every once in awhile.
We just refinanced and I have to say our loan officer was amazing. She pushed, kept us informed every step of the way, and got us closed in 14 days. I almost went with Quicken loans but after I read all kinds of horror stories about them on the internet, decided against it. So glad I did! We got 2.75 rate with .35 of a point. We had a 5.5% mortgage and a home equity loan at 6% that we took to pay for my son's college tuition.

Saved us over $600 a month.
do you mind telling me who you used? Even if it was a local bank - IIRC we're in roughly the same area. I'm hoping to refi the second we close out our building permit.
Sure We used Foundation Financial Group - my loan officer's name is Jihe Park (she goes by Jennifer Park, lol!). She really did a great job for us. Very detail oriented. I know rates are starting to go back up. Her email is jpark@ffg.com
Mine isn't H&G related, but I had an awesome experience at my local Gymboree. E started fussing in her car seat as I was finishing up going through some clearance bins. So I had E in one arm, pushing the stroller and trying to check-out. The woman went through the last couple bins for me (by then E was calmed down). Then I said E may be hungry and she said if I needed to breastfeed, that the Gapkids would let me use their fitting room or that she knew the Dillards women's lounge was nice too. I was super impressed and will definitely go back.
